Lysacek didn't have a quad, and it
didn't matter.
"Tonight I wasn't thinking
about winning," said Lysacek. "I wasn't
thinking about medaling; I just wanted to
skate well. To have the title hasn't really
soaked in yet. My legs were a little stiff,
because I was nervous, but once I hit that
first jump, I took a deep breath and felt
really good."

Adult Pairs Skaters Achieve Success at Chicago Clinic by Ellen
Zurfluh, Special to U.S. Figure Skating Online
Russian national pairs champion Maxim Trankhov works
with Kimm and Rich Walin as they practice a press
lift exercise.
(6/25/07) - It was a weekend of
breakthroughs at the Ninth Annual Chicago Adult Pair Clinic,
June 16-17 at the Twin Rinks Ice Pavilion in Buffalo Grove,
IL. One team put up a platter lift on the ice for the first
time; another found an easier takeoff for the throw loop;
and one skater found she could do a forward inside death
spiral with just a bit more support from her partner.
Olympic pairs champion Oleg Vassiliev, who
has taught this clinic since its inception, gave the six
participating teams many different approaches to mastering
or improving their pairs skating maneuvers during two hours
of work off ice and four hours on the ice.....
The Chicago Adult Pairs Clinic is
organized by Ellen Zurfluh
and Les Ascher (DuPage
FSC). For more information, contact Ascher at

(10/27/06) - It may have been one of the
last times figure skating fans saw
Evan Lysacek's
“Carmen” free skate, but for those at the Hartford Civic Center Friday
night, it was one to remember.
“Carmen” is considered one of the most
overused pieces of music in skating, but Lysacek's version suits his
tall frame and accentuates the best aspects of his skating. When he is
on, his final straightline step sequence exhilarates the crowd and shows
why he is one of the world's most exciting skaters...

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR REGIONAL COMPETITORS!!!
RESULTS
(2/7/06) - The United States men's Olympic Figure
Skating Team met with the media for the first time in Torino Tuesday
morning, Feb. 7. It was a subdued and still jet-lagged trio that
filed into the La Mole press conference room in the Main Media
Center, as Johnny Weir, Evan LYSACEK
and Matt Savoie arrived in the city late Sunday night...
... LYSACEK, the
reigning World bronze medalist, said it will be a “sensitive compromise”
between preparing for competition and reveling in the Olympic
atmosphere.
“You can only tell yourself so many times that it's just
another competition before you look up and see Olympic rings every two
feet,” he said...
